Video: Omron F3SG Anti Chatter Void Prevention Muting using F3W-MA Muting Sensors

Go on line with the light curtain. 2. Select “Log In” button on the top of the window to bring up the Log In window. 3. Select Administrator radio button and enter password. If no password has been entered previously or the unit is just opened from the factory the default password is 0000. Then select the “OK’ button to close the window. 4. Select the “Recovery” button to execute factory default procedure. To default the light curtain back to factory defaults, select the “Reset to Factory Default Settings” button. Verify the procedure was complete by looking at the bottom of the window and it should state “Tool success to recovery sensor setting”. 5. Select “Top page” button at the top of the window to go back to the main page. 6. Select “Muting/Override” button under the Function Setting area of the software. This will get you into the Muting/Override window. 7. Verify that the Muting enable radio button is enabled. 8. Using the “Muting Mode” pull down select “Exit-Only Muting” function (This is the only option that can be demonstrated using the F3W-MA Muting Actuators). 9. Select “Teach in” radio button. 10. Set object into light curtain area and select “Confirm Zone” to set the number of beams being blocked by the light curtain. 11. Select “Top page” button at the top of the window to go back to the main page. 12. Select “Lamp Setting” button of the software. This will get you into the Lamp Setting window. 13. Set Auxiliary Output for the following: Output Operation Mode = Muting/Override Information Inverted signal output = Disable Output pattern = ON 1 time 14. Set Lamp Output Red (Priority 1) for the following: Output Operation Mode = Safety output information Inverted signal output = Enable Output pattern = Solid-ON 15. Set Lamp Output Orange (Priority 2) for the following: Output Operation Mode = Muting/Override Information Inverted signal output = Disable Output pattern = ON-1 time 16. Set Lamp Output Green (Priority 3) for the following: Output Operation Mode = Safety output information Inverted signal output = Disable Output pattern = Solid-ON 17. Select the “Write configuration” button to write the settings to the light curtain. This will bring up a write configuration window. To initiate the write select the “Write” button. Settings will then transfer to the light curtain. 18. To activate the light curtain you can go to the “Monitor “ button on the top of the page or cycle power to the unit. 19. Verify dip switches 2 and 3 are in the OFF position in the receiver portion of the F3W muting sensor. 20. Test object to see and prove to the customer that under normal condition (Anti-Chatter function off) that normal sensors will trip the light curtain. 21. Turn OFF power to the light curtain. Turn ON dip switch # 2 to set the light curtain “Chattering/void space prevention mode 1” option ON. Turn ON power to the light curtain. 22. Using the same object in step number 14 test and prove to the customer that the “Chattering/void space prevention mode 1” option does in fact work to prevent the light curtain from tripping. If the voids in the object are large, you may want to use the OFF delay function in combination with the Chattering/void space prevention to prevent the light curtain from tripping. The higher the OFF delay the larger the voids can be. Software is only needed to set the light curtain in “Exit only muting” mode. You can use Chattering/void space prevention in conjunction with Dynamic Muting or regular muting, which ever one you prefer.
